As the mercury soared to 88 degrees Monday, a Border collie named Sable took a refeshing plunge into the J.C. Nichols Memorial Fountain in pursuit of a flying disk. Owner Tom Jones, formerly of Kansas City, had returned for a visit and brought Sable back to one of her favorite parks. Monday's high temperatures tied a record set in 1924.
