Amish men stand next to the ruins of Eli Burkholder's house in Verona, Mo. Tuesday afternoon. Burkholder, an Amish horseshoer, lost his house, barn, a buggy, and sawmill. He said that he took his family down in the basement of his home when he saw the tornado coming across the fields. When it hit his home, he said dust and debris was swirling around and then the house lifted off the foundation about a foot and came back down at an angle. A couple of farmers and several Amishfamilies came over to help him cleanup. Burkholder said he will start rebuilding tomorrow.
